In a move aimed at empowering youth and showcasing promising athletic talents, Al Ain University has launched the first edition of the Sports Excellence Championship for high school students. The tournament took place from February 24 to 27, 2025, at the university’s campus in Al Ain, providing a competitive arena where skill and determination merged in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and challenge.
More than 35 schools from Al Ain participated in the championship, which was held in alignment with the spirit of the Year of the Community 2025 in the UAE. The university sought to leverage sports to foster community engagement and instill teamwork and discipline among students, in line with its vision to support both the education and sports sectors.
The championship concluded with Al Khalil International Private School claiming the title, while Twam Model Private School secured second place, and Al Falah Academy (Al Jimi Branch) took third place.
The tournament aimed to discover athletic talents that could potentially shape the future of local and international sports. The matches featured diverse levels of performance, giving students the opportunity to showcase their abilities before specialists and coaches, thereby increasing their chances of skill development and future sports opportunities. Additionally, the event reinforced the role of sports in building social connections, encouraging young people to adopt active and healthy lifestyles, and fostering a spirit of challenge, fair play, and celebration of achievements—regardless of their scale.
